Vascular Plants
Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.
Text:"NOTE.—The three plants marked with an asterisk (*) were published in a newspaper report of the last meeting of the Queensland Philosophical Society, a publication scarcely meeting the requirements of scientific currency."
Comment:Despite Bailey's comment that his original publication of this name was in a newspaper report that did not meet "the requirements of scientific currency" such publication was effective prior to 1 January 1953 under ICN Art.30.7 (Shenzhen Code, 2018). Bailey's publication in the Proc. Roy. Soc. Queensland is thus here considered to be a secondary reference.
