Dendrobium kingianum var. pallidum F.M.Bailey, legitimate, scientific secondary reference apni
Bailey, F.M. (1884), Contributions to the Queensland Flora. Proceedings of the Royal Society of Queensland 1(1): 11-12 [secondary reference] BHL
  • Text: "NOTE.—The three plants marked with an asterisk (*) were published in a newspaper report of the last meeting of the Queensland Philosophical Society, a publication scarcely meeting the requirements of scientific currency."
  • Comment: Despite Bailey's comment that his original publication of this name was in a newspaper report that did not meet "the requirements of scientific currency" such publication was effective prior to 1 January 1953 under ICN Art.30.7 (Shenzhen Code, 2018). Bailey's publication in the Proc. Roy. Soc. Queensland is thus here considered to be a secondary reference.
