Comment: The specific epithet was published by Maiden as "clelandi" but it is corrected here to the epithet of the basionym Eucalyptus goniantha var. clelandiorum, in accordance with ICN Art. 60.12 and Rec. 60C.1 (Melbourne Code, 2012). -
Comment: Maiden lists the species name with the notation "sp. nov." and lists Eucalyptus goniantha var. clelandiorum Maiden (1911) as a synonym. Maiden indicates that the earlier publication of the name at varietal rank was "a slip of the pen", but he also cites part of the type material of the variety as the type of E. clelandiorum. The species name is thus treated here as a new combination based on Eucalyptus goniantha var. clelandiorum rather than as a new name.
