- APC Comment
- Brassica rapa subsp. campestris is recognised as a distinct taxon in Qld and NSW, and Brassica rapa subsp. rapa are recognised as distinct in SA. According to S.Snogerup (pers. comm. 2006) "...the cultivated forms, including subsp. rapa (turnip), subsp. oleifera (turnip rape) and subsp. chinensis (salad kale) are freely interbreeding with each other and the wild weedy subsp. campestris. Ruderal specimens are often not clearly referable to any of the subspecies and often very difficult to separate from B. Ă—napus."
