A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 1123 (1991) stated that Poiret did not validly make the combination Epacris conspicua (R.Br.) Poir. However, under Article 33.1 of the 2006 (Vienna) edition of the ICBN, this name is considered to be validly published.
