Hybrids have been recorded between Kunzea affinis and K. jucunda (H.R.Toelken, J. Adelaide Bot. Gard., 17: 100 (1996)). Hybrids between K. affinis and K. preissiana recorded by Toelken (op. cit.) are now referred to either K. preissiana or K. strigosa (see H.R.Toelken & G.F.Craig, Nuytsia 17: 394 (2007)).
