Chapman, Australian Plant Name Index 1: 22 (1991) listed "Acacia biflora Paxton, nom. illeg." There is no indication in Paxton's Bot. Mag. 8: 44 (1841) or 9: 221 (1842) that he considered that he was describing a new plant. On the contrary he wrote about a species introduced some years earlier. This should be considered (mis)usage of the name A. biflora R.Br. and not a new later homonym.
