Hybrids possibly occur between Senecio pinnatifolius var. maritimus and Senecio spathulatus var. spathulatus in Tasmania (I.R.Thompson, Muelleria 21: 34 (2005)). Hybrids possibly occur between Senecio pinnatifolius var. maritimus and Senecio spanomerus in SA (I.R.Thompson, Muelleria 21: 56 (2005)).
