Comment: The synonymy of Aneura alterniloba var. gigantea in McCarthy (2006) has an entry 'Monoclea forsteri Hook., Musci Exot. 2: pl. 174 (1820); New South Wales record.'. When this entry was still in APNI, this was incorrectly interpreted, so APC has got Monoclea forsteri as a heterotypic synonym of Aneura gigantea var. gigantea. Entry corrected 7 Feb. 2024 [NK 2024-02-07].
