Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. Comment:nom. illeg., nom. superfl. as the epithet citrinus was available in Callistemon in 1826 and thus ought to have been adopted by Sweet (ICN Art. 11.4 (Shenzhen Code, 2018)).
Comment:The names "Callistemon lanceolatus (Smith) Sweet var. lanceolatus" and "Callistemon lanceolatus (Smith) Sweet f. lanceolatus" were listed by A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 541, 542 (1991)), but these autonyms do not exist, in accordance with ICN Art. 27.2 (Shenzhen Code, 2018).
