The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.

Comment: L.G.Adams, Brunonia 2(1): 47-48 (1979), argued that Domin's varietal name was not conclusively assigned to a species and was thus not validly published under ICBN Art. 33 (Leningrad Code, 1978) [now ICN Art. 35.2 (Shenzhen Code, 2018)]. Domin discusses two varieties under his entry for Lagenophora bellioides but clearly distinguishes the text as an "Anmerkung" (note or remark) concerning the putatively related species L. gunnii. The name is thus regarded here as validly published by Domin.
