Vascular Plants
Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.
APC Comment:Treated as Gulubia costata in Qld. Chapman, APNI 1494 (1991) listed a non existent "Gulubia costata (Bailey) Becc.", based on a misinterpretation of Beccari's acknowledgement that Bailey and Beccari had inadvertently used the same epithet (costata) for the same species, based on different types, and placed in different genera (see W.J. Baker & A.H.B. Loo, Kew Bulletin 59: 64 (2004) for discussion).
