Vascular Plants
Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.
APC Comment:B.R.Randell, J. Adelaide Bot. Gard. 15: 97-98 (1993) treats Amsinckia in Australia as one variable complex (A. lycopsoides Lindl. ex Lehm.), on account of extensive morphological integradation between previously recognised entities. Most States and Territories, however, continue to recognise individual species as occurring in their jurisdictions. Plants naturalised in the ACT appear to be intermediate between A. calycina and A. intermedia.
