The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. Text: "This elegant species... is enumerated in Donn's catalogue by the specific title of speciosa..."
Comment: Stafleu & Cowan, Tax. Lit. ed. 2, 1 (1976) 51 give the author as "probably ... John Kennedy", but as there is no such indication in the work itself, Andrews has been accepted here as the author. Andrews ascribes the species name to J.Donn, Hort. Cantabrig. 6th edn, 100 (1811), where it appeared without a description.
