Type: "I first saw this species in the nursery of Mr. CUNNINGHAM, Comely Bank, near Edinburgh, where it flowered ... in May 1840. In the month following, we received it at the Botanic Garden, Edinburgh, from Mr. HENDERSON'S nursery in the Edgeware-road, and at the same time from Mr. JACKSON, Nurseryman, Kingston, Surrey. It is indigenous to the neighbourhood of Swan River, Australia"
