Rutaceae Juss.
Citrus garrawayae P.I.Forst. , orth. var. scientific apni Forster, P.I. (1 March 1991), Microcitrus garrawayae (Rutaceae) and its distribution in New Guinea and Australia. Telopea 4(2): 357 [primary reference]
  • Text: "As R.W. Garraway is indicated as 'Mrs' on various labels at BRI of plants from Cape York Peninsula, the epithet of this taxon should be correctly garrawayae and not 'garrawayi' as given originally by Bailey (1904) or 'Garrowayi' as given by Swingle (1915)."
  • Comment: Forster indicates that R.W.Garraway was female and thus that (substantival) epithets honouring her should be garrawayae. This appears to be a misinterpretation of "Mrs. R.W. Garraway" in specimen labels and citations, which was used for material gathered by the wife of Roland Walter Garraway (1859–1942). In the case of Citrus garrawayi Bailey cited the collector of the type material as being R.W.Garraway alone.
