Text: "This name was placed as a synonym under Archontophoenix alexandrae (F.Muell.) H.Wendl. & Drude without explanation by U.Martelli, Nuovo Giorn. Bot. Ital. 42: 76 (1935), a placement reiterated by F.B.Essig, Allertonia 1: 471 (1978). However, the lack of description, apart from "fructum 2-spermum" (Bentham & Hooker, Gen. Pl. 892 (1883)), and any extant specimens, prevent this taxon being placed."
