  • Type: "Holotypus: Western Australia, Coolgardie–Esperance Railway, c. 4 km S of Grass Patch, 18 Jan. 2021, D. Nicolle 8008 & M.E. French (PERTH). Isotypi: AD286728; CANB."
  • Etymology: "The epithet, coined by L.A.S. Johnson and K.D. Hill, is from the Latin plautus (wide or broad). The intended meaning of the name is not clear, but it is likely to refer to the relatively broad adult leaves of the subspecies compared to subsp. dissimulata."
