  • Type: "Holotype: New South Wales: Southern Tablelands: near Geehi, Kosciuszko National Park, T.C. Wilson 77A, 9 Jan. 2007 (holo: NSW; iso: T.C. Wilson 77B, NSW)."
  • Etymology: "The specific epithet, subalpina, refers to the high-elevation snowgum (Eucalyptus pauciflora)-dominated forest, in which this species occurs."
  • Text: "The type collection of P. subalpina (T.C. Wilson 77) was arbitrarily divided into 77A and 77B for the morphological analysis (small low-density leaf and floral morphological dataset, sLF). The holotype and isotype are from the same plant and should be treated as a single collection."
