Poaceae Barnhart
Chloris circumfontinalis Fahey & Fensham , legitimate scientific apni Fahey, P.S., Fensham, R.J., Laffineur, B. & Cook, L.G. (5 June 2019), Chloris circumfontinalis (Poaceae): a recently discovered species from the saline scalds surrounding artesian springs in north-eastern Australia. Australian Systematic Botany 32(2,3): 240 [tax. nov.]
  • Type: "Queensland, on Edgbaston Station, 33km NNE of Aramac, 22°43'14"S, 145°26'15"E, E.J.Thompson MUT405, 8 April 2010 (holo: BRI; iso: CANB, MEL)."
  • Etymology: "Because of the species’ tight relationship with the artesian springs, despite not being known to occur within the wetlands themselves, the species epithet circumfontinalis is proposed. This name is drawn from the Latin roots ‘circum-’ around, surrounding and ‘fontinalis’ meaning association with springs."
