Orchidaceae Juss.
Epidendrum aristotelea Raeusch. , nom. illeg., nom. superfl. scientific apni Raeuschel, E.A. (1797), Nomenclator Botanicus Edn. 3: 265 [nom. nov.]
replaced synonym: Aristotelea spiralis Lour. legitimate
  • Text: "Canto Sinar."
  • Comment: nom. illeg., nom. superfl., as the epithet spirale was available in Epidendrum in 1797 and thus ought to have been adopted by Raeuschel. Reference to replaced synonym indirect, via Raeuschel's mention in a footnote that the species had been placed in a different genus by Loureiro, the use of the epithet aristotelea, and by the citation of Loureiro's type locality.
