Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.
Comment:This name is sometimes attributed to C.F.B. de Mirbel, Mém. Mus. Hist. Nat. 13: 74 (1825). Mirbel lists "Frenela robusta. Cunningh. R. Br. sub. Callitri" but does not provide any reference to a publication by Brown and does not definitely associate the genus name Callitris with the species epithet as required by ICN Art. 35.2 (Shenzhen Code, 2018).
Comment:Gardner gives the authorship for this name as "(R.Br.) Mirb. in Mem. Mus. Par. xiii. 74 (1825)" [i.e. C.F.B. de Mirbel, Mem. Mus. Hist. Nat. 13: 74 (1825)]. However, the name published by Mirbel is Frenela robusta Mirb., nom. inval., nom. nud., with Callitris robusta Mirb. as a nom. inval., pro syn.
