The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. APC Comment:B.R.Randell & B.A.Barlow, Fl. Australia 12: 105 (1998) noted that this taxon is probably always of hybrid origin, with a diverse and varying parentage, including subspecies of S. artemisioides and S. cardiosperma in particular.
