The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.

Etymology: The epithet pseudosacculatum is from the Latin pseudo–false, in reference to this species not being Stylidium sacculatum and saccatum–pouched, in reference to the dilated gymnostemium portion (now known as the cunabulum (Kenneally & Lowrie 1994b)) situated immediately below the anthers where the anthers or stigma hinge forward to be cradled on the cunabulum while at rest in the set position.
