  • Type: 1.5 km east-south-east of the Elephant Rock end of the Sleeping Buddha hill formation south of Kununurra, Kimberley, Western Australia, 15 50'S, 128 46'E, 25 April 1995, A. Lowrie 1095 (holo: PERTH 04452925; iso: DNA, MEL).
  • Etymology: The specific epithet turbinatum is from the Latin turbinatus - obconical, in reference to the shape of the hypanthium.
