Etymology: "The specific epithet honours Barbara and Donald (Don) Bellairs, of Kalbarri, and is a noun in apposition derived from the Latin campana, bell, the family name Bellairs being considered by some to pertain to bell-house. The Bellairs possess a unique knowledge of the flora of the Kalbarri region acquired during the thorough documentation that they have made."
