The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. M.A.Clem., B.Wallace & D.L.Jones by M.A.Clements, Austral. Orchid Res. 1: 128 (1989), and in synonymy of Rhinerrhizopsis moorei (Rchb.f.) Ormerod by P.Ormerod, Oasis suppl. 1: 3 (2001) and D.L.Jones & M.A.Clements, Austral. Orchid Res. 5: 12 (2006). Sarcochilus moorei Rchb.f., nom. inval., pro syn. and Pteroceras moorei (Rchb.f.) Bakh.f. are both is listed in synonymy of Rhinerrhizopsis moorei (Rchb.f.) Ormerod by D.L.Jones & M.A.Clements, Austral. Orchid Res. 5: 12 (2006). Sarcochilus moorei, Rhinerrhiza moorei and Rhinerrhizopsis moorei are all now considered to have been misapplied to Rhinerrhizopsis matutina D.L.Jones & M.A.Clem. in Australia.
