Vascular Plants
Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.
Type:"Inter tractum elatum Macdonnell's Range et oasim Lady Charlotte's Waters; Christoph. Giles."
Etymology:(not specified.) [but presumably named for the collector of the type material, Christopher Giles (c. 1841–1917)]
Comment:Mueller's spelling of the species epithet as christophori is here treated as resulting from an intentional latinisation (to Christophorus) of the first name of the collector of the type material . It is thus to be preserved under ICN Art. 60.7 (Melbourne Code, 2012) and is not correctable to christopheri.
