  • Type: Western Australia, Mount Barker town limit along road to Porongorup, 34 38'S 117 41'E, 24 Sep. 1979, M.D. Crisp 6105, J. Taylor and R. Jackson (holotypus CBG; isotypi K, MEL, PERTH).
  • Etymology: "The specific epithet is Latin for smaller or less, and refers to the flowers of B. minor, which are smaller than those of the otherwise similar B. latifolium."
  • Text: "Brachysema minor has been cultivated in eastern Australian gardens since about 1960 (J. W. Wrigley, pers. comm.) but under the misapplied names 'B. latifolium' and 'B. sericeum'.
