The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.

Comment: Mueller's refers to "F. v. M., fragm. X, 72 (1876)" [i.e. F.J.H. von Mueller, Fragm. 10(84): 72 (1876)], where he had provided a description of Trianthema humillima F.Muell. and stated that perhaps it should be placed in a new genus, Pomatotheca. However, this reference to the previously-published species description does not meet the requirements for validation of the generic name as a descriptio generico-specifica under ICN Art. 38.5 (Melbourne Code, 2012).

APC Comment: An invalidly-published genus name intended by Mueller to contain a single species based on Trianthema humillima F.Muell. This species is a moss, Gigaspermum repens (Hook.) Lindb., rather than a flowering plant.
