Capparis mitchellii Lindl. , legitimate, scientific
Lindley, J. in Mitchell, T.L. (1838), Three Expeditions into the interior of Eastern Australia 1: 311, adnot. [tax. nov.]
  • Type: (not cited).
  • Comment: Jacobs cites the reference as "(Lindl. ex F.v.M.) Benth., Fl. Austral. 1 (1863) 96" and gives "C. mitchellii Lindl. in Mitch., Three Exped. Int. Austral. (1838) 315, name only". This name is, however, validly published in the first edition of Mitchell's Three Exped. Interior Trop. Austral. on p. 311; however in the second edition, on p. 315, the name is mentioned without a description. Apparently Jacobs, Index Kewensis, and Bentham, only had access to the second edition. Pagination is corrected in Supplement 11 of Index Kewensis
