Comment: This name appears to be based on the same material as the description of Sarcomenia victoriae Harvey ex J.G. Agardh. Kuetzing gives the type statement as ' "Brighton beach, Port Philipp" Harvey' and in the protologue of S. victoriae Agardh cites 'Polysiphonia Victoriae Harv. mscr. in Alg Austr. Exs. n:o 100!!'.
