Type locality: Holotype and etymology: Schlech 260 (BISH), only one collection of about 12 thalli, from a tidepool on a limestone, wave-cut bench at Kipukai, Kauai Island, Hawaii. The specific epithet commemorates the collecting locatio, which is also one of the earliest sites seen by European westerners. -
