Comment: From the protologue the following information is available regarding the type specimen & type locality: Type: MELU, A39489-97 [=LHI-10156]. Type Locality: Old Gulch, plants dominating a turf community on the floor of a shallow intertidal basalt pool along the west side of the channel (G. and C. Kraft, C. O'Brien, 2.x.1976. ...). This information is reinterated in Kraft 2007 Flora of Australia p. 63.
