Comment: Two Wilson specimens in MEL are D. dichotoma. Womersley 1967 Australian Journal of Botany 15:210 indicates that all the Australian records are D. dichotoma but as yet this has not been investigated. Adams 1994 Seaweeds of New Zealand. An Illustrated Guide indicates that this species may be D. dichotoma, although the taxon is accepted in later New Zealand floristic accounts. -
