Comment: The Wilson specimens cited in the protologue from Port Phillip Bay, Victoria are considered by Womersley 1967 Australian Journal of Botany 15:208 to be Dictyota alternifda. Womersley choses one of the Port Denison specimens as a lectotype of D. bifurca. -
