Comment: Type illustrated in Phillips 1992:fig 7a. De Clerck et al 2006 J. Phycol. 42:1284 specifically exclude this taxon from synonymy with Dictyota until further DNA evidence is forthcoming. Kraft 2009 Algae of Australia p. 157 repeats this information.
