  • Comment: The combination Colpomenia peregrina (Sauvageau) Hamel 1937 Phéophycées de France p. 201 is unnecessary (see Silva et al. 1987 Smithsonian Contributions to the Marine Sciences No. 27:627). Kraft (2009) Marine Benthic Algae of Lord Howe Island and Southern Great Barrier Reef 2 Brown Algae p. 118 calls in to question the records of this taxon from QLD and also from Rottnest and Houtman Abrohlos Is. WA.
