Comment: This protologue represents the protoloue of Cladophora gracilis Kuetzing. Conferva gracilis Griffiths ex Harvey is a later homonym of Conferva gracilis Wulfen. Van den Hoek 1963 'Revision of the European species of Cladophora' p. 77 discussed the isotype material in L 937/155/67.
