Comment: This specimen was undoubtably collected on one of the French expeditions. The ports of call in WA were Esperance (1792), Albany(1803, 1826), Geograph Bay (1801, 1803), Swan River/Rottnest (1801, 1803), Shark Bay (1801, 1803, 1818), Dampier Arch. (1801), Bonaparte Arch. (1801, 1803) (Marchant 1982 'France Australe' Artlook Books:Perth xvi + 384 pp). Agardh 1889 Kongl. Svenska Vetenskapsakademiens Handlingar 23:105 indicates the taxon is from warmer waters. -
