Encalypta australis Mitt., legitimate, scientific tax. nov. apni
Wilson, W.M. in Hooker, J.D. (1859), Musci. The botany of the Antarctic voyage of H.M. Discovery ships Erebus and Terror. III. Flora Tasmaniae 2(8): 182 [tax. nov.] BHL
  • Type: "HAB. Near the Cataract, Launceston, and on the fossiliferous limestone near Cheshunt, Archer."
  • Comment: The name is attributed to "Mitten, in Journ. Linn. Soc. ined." but W.Mitten's paper in the Journal was not published until September 1859. Since the description given is a verbatim quote from Mitten's draft, the name and description are both here accepted as having been simultaneously ascribed to Mitten (ICN Art. 46.2 (Shenzhen Code, 2018)).
