Acacia pubescens (Vent.) R.Br., legitimate, scientific secondary reference apni
Tindale, M.D. & Kodela, P.G. in Orchard, A.E. & Wilson, A.J.G. (ed.) (2001), Flora of Australia 11A: 224, Fig. 6R-S, Map 31 [secondary reference]
nomenclatural synonym: Mimosa pubescens Vent. legitimate taxonomic synonym: Acacia mollissima Willd. legitimate taxonomic synonym: Mimosa mollissima (Humb. & Bonpl. ex Willd.) Poir. legitimate taxonomic synonym: Mimosa pubigera Poir. nom. inval., pro syn. common name: Downy Wattle [n/a]
  • Comment: Maslin cites “Acacia mollissima Hort. ex Willd., Enum. Pl. pt 2: 1053 (1809); Mimosa mollissima (Willd.) Poir., Encycl. Meth. (Bot.) Suppl. 1: 46 (1810).”, the latter name with incorrect authorship, in synonymy of Acacia pubescens. Poiret’s name (Mimosa mollissima (Humb. & Bonpl. ex Willd.) Poir.), published in Encycl. Meth. (Bot.) Suppl. is based on Inga mollissima Humb. & Bonpl. ex Willd. The inclusion of Mimosa mollissima in synonymy of Acacia pubescens in this work is in error (P.G.Kodela, pers. comm., 2016).
