  • Type: "from tropical Eastern Australia has been forwarded to me by its discoverer Mr. Walter Hill, the Director of the Brisbane Botanic Garden. A living plant has been received at the Royal Gardens, Kew also sent by Mr. Hill."
  • Etymology: "... is dedicated to the Hon. Louis Hope, of Cleveland, Queensland, on account of his active and generous patronage of Horticulture, Agriculture, and Botany in this colony."
