  • Type: "I frutti maturi di questa Palma vannero raccolti dal sig. Ramsay a Port Essington, nella parte più settentrionale dell'Australia, nella Penisola di Cobourg, e vennero inviati al barone Ferd. v. Mueller, che li crenon appartenenti ad una nuova specie di Kentia, che però non trovo che egli abbia mai pubblicata. A me sono stati communicati dal sig. A.G. Ewart, Direttore del "National Herbarium" di Melbourne."
  • Etymology: (not specified.) [but presumably named in honour of the collector of the type material, E.P.Ramsay (1842–1916)]
