Comment: This taxon was listed for Tasmania by Guiler and Harvey (as C. gracilis). Womersley 1984 The Marine Benthic Flora of Southern Australia Pt I apparently placed these records in C. sericea but later DNA work on these taxa (See also Silva et al 1996 Univ calif Public Bot. 79:773) must mean a reinvestigation of the Tasmanian records is needed to clarify their true taxonomic position.
