See F.R.Fosberg, Micronesica 2(2): 150 (1967) for a discussion of the nomenclature and orthography of Abroma. Fosberg's conclusion that Jacquin publication of this name is invalid is not correct. Jacquin validates the name in Hort. Bot. Vindob. 3: 3 (1776) (R.J.F.Henderson, pers.comm. 27 Apr. 2004).
