Treated as Sida acuta subsp. acuta in WA and as S. acuta subsp. carpinifolia on NI by P.S.Green in A.J.G.Wilson (ed.), Fl. Australia 49: 112 (1994). Use of the names Sida carpinifolia by J.S.Beard (ed.), Descr. Cat. West Austral. Pl. 63 (1965) and Sida acuta subsp. carpinifolia by J.R.Wheeler in J.R.Wheeler (ed.) et al., Fl. Kimberley Region 227 (1992) are considered to be misapplications to Sida acuta subsp. acuta.
