The names "Brachychiton paradoxus var. discolor (F.Muell.) A.Terrac." and "Brachychiton paradoxus var. luridus (C.Moore ex F.Muell.) A.Terrac. " are listed by A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 456 (1991), but Terraciano's infraspecific taxa are here interpreted as subspecies, following G.P.Guymer, Austral. Syst. Bot. 1: 259 (1989).
