A reputed hybrid E. botryoides x E. globulus subsp. pseudoglobulus is the basis of E. maidenii var. williamsonii (Pryor & Johnson, 1971; Chippendale, 1988). A reputed hybrid E. globulus subsp. pseudoglobulus x E. tereticornis is the basis for E. oviformis Maiden & Blakely (Pryor & Johnson, 1971; Chippendale, 1988). A reputed hybrid E. globulus subsp. pseudoglobulus x E. tereticornis subsp. tereticornis is the basis for E. paradoxa Maiden & Blakely (Pryor & Johnson, 1971; Chippendale, 1988). Considered to be a distinct species, E. pseudoglobulus, by Nicolle (pers. comm.).
