Treated as Schoenus apogon var. apogon in Qld and the ACT. A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 2594 (1991) stated that Poiret did not validly make the combination Schoenus imberbis. However, under Article 33.1 of the 2006 (Vienna) edition of the ICBN, this name is considered to be validly published.
